Meet Amiga, the first end-to-end AI assistant for PR
The world of public relations just got a lot better with today’s launch of Amiga, the first Artificial Media Intelligence assistant for comms pros!
Short for “Artificial Media Intelligence Generator and Assistant,” Amiga helps generate eloquent and highly personalized pitch and press release drafts, and assists in the ideation process.

And just how did we do it? Great question.
We trained Amiga on the world’s most comprehensive PR dataset including over five million real pitches and press releases sent via Propel’s Gmail and Outlook plugins, information on over a million journalists, as well as hundreds of millions of articles.
Amiga offers advanced research and writing capabilities including generating pitches and press releases in seconds, and will soon include the ability to automatically create media lists with only the most relevant journalists for a pitch topic, along with incorporating pitch optimization data for hundreds of thousands of journalists.
With Amiga, comms pros can now save 90% of their time writing strategic, hyper-personalized pitch and press release drafts, making the research and writing processes easier, stronger and more efficient.
It allows you to focus on the creative and human elements of PR, such as building relationships, developing campaign strategies and fine-tuning messaging.
The role of AI in PR
The use of AI in PR is not entirely new, but the launch of Amiga marks a significant milestone in the industry as it’s the first end-to-end AI assistant to offer advanced generative, recommendation and classification AI to communications professionals.
Built by our team of in-house AI engineers and trained using our vast and proprietary PR data set, Amiga’s pitch drafter has learned how to generate eloquent and personalized pitch drafts that are tailored to each journalist on a one-to-one basis.
This ability to hyper-personalize pitches can significantly improve the average journalist response rate to your PR pitches, which have seen a continuous decline in recent years.
Fortunately, Amiga is able to utilize Propel’s data set to learn journalist preferences and send pitches on the days of the week and at the time a particular journalist is most likely to open a pitch.
“We created the category of PRM in 2019, which today is considered standard for any PR team,” said Zach Cutler, CEO and Co-Founder of Propel PRM. “Therefore, I couldn’t be more proud to announce that we have pushed the boundaries yet again to create another breakthrough category for comms: Artificial Media Intelligence. AMI will never seek to replace PR professionals, rather it will significantly improve the lives of people in our industry by performing the more repetitive and automatable parts of the job, freeing them up to focus on the parts of the job they love.”
What Does Amiga Mean for PR?
The launch of Amiga sparks significant implications for the PR industry - for the better, of course!
PR pros will be able to work more efficiently, and the use of AI will allow them to focus on the creative and strategic aspects of their job, leading to higher quality results across the board.
We also expect to see positive implications for the future of journalism.
With more personalized pitches and press releases being generated by AI, we hope to do the media a massive favor by weeding out 1,000-word, irrelevant, mass pitches which have nothing to do with the beat they cover.
However, like with any new technology, it’s important to proceed with caution.
Like any form of AI assistance in the communications space, the content the algorithm creates should never be treated like a final copy, ready to send the moment it's at your fingertips. PR pros always need to make sure that anything their Amiga creates is factually accurate and is phrased to their liking.
After all, Artificial Media Intelligence (AMI) is not designed to replace communications professionals, rather make their work more manageable, efficient and powerful.
The launch of Amiga is a huge milestone in the PR industry, and we’re so excited to share it with you!
